The popular Pyrenean
architecture combines beauty with the practicallity demanded by the hard
mountain life.
Megalitic remains: Dolmens and cromlechs scattererd throughout the Pyrenees: in
Oza, Guarrinza, Aguas Tuertas, Bornze Age monuments in Villanua, and the Dolmen
of Santa Elena. Mozarabic Churches: Between Sabinanigo and Biescas during the XI
century the mozarabic art devoloped by Christians in Moslem territory combined
with the budding Romanesque style: Gavin, Olivan, Susin, Busa and Larrede.
Romanesque: The Cathedral of Jaca marked the Romanesque Jaca style which was
spread by the Caminoof Santiago and characterized by the Jaca Chistogram between
two lions . Santa Cruz de la Serós: The Church of Santa María and the Church
of San Caprasio. Below a great rock is the Monasery of San Juan de la Pena of
Mozarabic origen and related to the Holy Grail. San Pedro de Siresa was an
ancient Royal Monastery. 
Other interesting churches are Nuestra Sra. de Iguacel and San Andrés de
Sásabe. Gothic: The churches of Ansó, Panticosa, and Sallent. Other styles:
The XVI century Citadel in Jaca and the Renaissance Town Hall, the new baroque
Monastery of San Juan de la Pena.
